About Us
Our family's story unfolds across two breathtaking landscapes: the majestic wilderness of Alaska and the vibrant rainforests of Costa Rica.
Our time in Alaska was truly special. The awe-inspiring glaciers, the raw power of nature, and the unique wildlife left an indelible mark on our hearts, especially on Flor, who raised her kids, James and Michelle, amidst this majestic scenery. However, the long, dark Alaskan winters called a part of us back to the sunshine and warmth of our roots in Costa Rica.
This homecoming has been a joy for our family. Rediscovering the lush rainforests, the vibrant culture, and the ever-present "Pura Vida" spirit (pure life) has been a refreshing change. But witnessing the challenges Costa Rica faces, like deforestation and habitat loss, has also ignited a renewed passion within us all.
We want to contribute to a more sustainable future for this beautiful country.

Flor, deeply connected to both Alaska's wild beauty and Costa Rica's vibrant spirit, leads our family's mission. Her passion for conservation and her unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship guide our every step.
James, raised amidst Alaska's wilderness, brings a dynamic spirit and a deep appreciation for the natural world to Plant a Gift Legacy. His firsthand experience with Alaska's awe-inspiring landscapes fuels his passion for protecting Costa Rica's environment. He stands shoulder-to-shoulder with his mother, sharing a big commitment to ensuring its beauty for generations to come.
Andreina (Flor's sister and James's aunt) a lifelong resident of Costa Rica, is one of our volunteers. Her intimate knowledge of the environment and her fierce love for the country's natural beauty are invaluable assets.
Together, as a team, we are a powerful force for positive change. Our combined knowledge, experiences, and dedication make us a formidable force in the fight for a greener, healthier Costa Rica.
